Étoile du Nord is an extraordinary architectural chalet development located in the unbeatable resort of Val d’Isère, France. Comprising two chalets in the centrally located enclave known as Petit Alaska – just a ten-minute walk or a three-minute drive to the slopes, and a short stroll to the village centre. Reached via a private tunnel driveway, with lift access and staff accommodation on site, Étoile du Nord offers a level of privacy and exclusivity unrivalled in Val d’Isère.

The focal point of the vast living /dining floors is a series of sensational triple-height windows which flood the space with natural light and offer a picture perfect mountain backdrop. At the centre of the chalets, two bronzed steel staircases form the centre point of each chalet and are truly works of art, allowing sunlight to flow through the properties.

The open-plan kitchen features fumed oak cabinets, Miele appliances and a large stone island and caters for both exclusive dining experiences and relaxed family suppers. A large living area comfortably seats guests around an open log-fire and magnificent faceted fireplace. This is the spot for après-ski tea, pre-dinner cocktails and games in to the night.

SPA & GAMES

In East Wing a sensational indoor/outdoor pool is the focus of the exceptional, light-filled spa area. The pool is separated from the elements via a retractable glass wall which can be lowered or lifted as desired and as the weather allows. Take a swim outside in the snow, or stay in the warmth and dive down to view the extraordinary window which directly overlooks the games area (best synchronised swimming pose at the ready). The spa is also home to a large steam room, shower, relaxation zone and massage room. An outdoor terrace and hot tub is also accessed directly from the spa.

Similarly in West Wing, an immense four-metre deep pool is visible from the central staircase adding a level of safety for families, and introducing a unique sense of space and light. In addition this spa features a steam, sauna, shower and seating area.

In both chalets a generously-sized Games & TV room provides another entertainment space, perfect for movie nights or for children to play.

Étoile du Nord is also home to a shared gym (for which sole use can arranged on a booking-by-booking basis).

Sleep

Exquisite and thoughtful design continues in the generous bedrooms, where elegant panelling and wallpapers offer both softness and sophistication. East Wing is home to seven bedrooms including a bunk room. In West Wing there are five bedrooms and another large bunk room.

Many rooms allow for twin or double bed configuration and, combined with the bunks, each chalet offers flexible accommodation for adults, teenagers or young children. All bedrooms feature bespoke luxury Italian linens, a Sonos-enabled sound system and en-suite marble bathrooms, some with vast walk-in showers, others baths from which to enjoy a long soak after a day on the slopes.
